Seeing a good number of people liking Charlie Got Inked image made me try out a few more ideas, this time to be used for the overhaul of my site's design.
I've also been asked a few times if I use reference images for my drawings, and the simplest answer is yes. I look at various images for inspiration or if I'm having a difficult time on a certain angle, and one or two on occasion use those references for my final images.
These sketches, though, were made from memory. The poses are somewhat I've done every now and then.
Sketched entirely on Photoshop using a WACOM Intuos3.
(might as wel use the new function, since you requested it and all)
I like the right one the most, could definately see that working well incorporated in a site design, you can have hear leaning on the main ' panel' in the header for instance.
If you have her leaning out on the right you'd have to figure a way to 'explain' her legs just disappearing like that though, or just draw them in full
constructionwise her lower body is a bit too small maybe, like over-exagerated perspective; but maybe that's just nitt-picking now
Also liking the middle drawing, sexy backs always work, hehe
I like all three of the poses, the bent-over one being my favorite. It appears you're moving in a more cartoonish direction with this design, which looks cool to me. I like the bigger hair.
Believe it or not, I actually sketch in a more cartoon-ish form. It frees you up on certain areas you need not concern yourself at this stage like anatomy and such. The sketching stage has to be, in my opinion, a process of simply getting your ideas into paper (or in this case the Photoshop canvas). You really don't need to worry about anatomy or proper perspective at this point, just sketch your ideas and see if it works visually.
But, relatively, I am trying to simplify my style a bit. I'm a Serpieri/ Adam Hughes fan, and I try to emulate their anatomic precision, but I'm also a very, very big fan of Jim Lee, Art Adams, J.Scott Campbell and Masamune Shirow (to name a few) and their style are more anatomically unique.
I agree with everything that Banorac fellow said, but the one all the way on the right is my favorite! She' just looks so beautiful and relaxed that way!
Nice work! I really like the liveliness in this pose--it really shows off the care you take in these pics and the attention you give in terms of infusing them with personality. Excellent work! Very well done!
